Lianas take down the forest.

Yet another detrimental positive feedback loop to add to the list. Longer dry seasons, more productive lianas relative to trees, strangled trees, less carbon sequestration, more carbon in the atmosphere, changing climate…I could go on.

SEA SICK, wishing I was in Laguna. Nauseated, knowing I won’t be there anytime soon.

OXYGEN IS OVERRATED: A PHOTO PROJECT

I just stumbled across this swimming-pool inspired photo project, presented by the research agency ifonlyhecouldswim (IOHCS), which is devoted to “investigating the interrelationships among hydrology, spatiality, and culture.”

IOHCS is seeking submissions of “swimming pool culture projected by the lens” via their flickr group or via email until March 15, 2011 (click through the above link for more details). Selected photos are currently being posted on the agency’s tumblr and may be considered for publication in the near future. Exciting!

The City of Angels, with its unique legacy as America’s swimming-pool utopia, is obviously in need of excellent representation here. So start snappin and posting, people! You know I already did…

Yet again, the biggest loser.

Yet again, the biggest loser.

While we waste time turning a blind eye, our waste invades all corners of the earth.
